This Pride Month, Relman Colfax recognizes and celebrates the history, culture, achievements, and contributions of members of the LGBTQ+ community. We stand with those challenging hatred and denounce attempts to hide, silence, or shame LGBTQ+ people and their families. We further denounce attempts to undermine access to gender affirming care for transgender and gender nonconforming people.

Since 2023, Relman Colfax has deepened its commitment to protecting LGBTQ+ rights across the country. We represented a young transgender student in Jane Doe #1 v. Mukwonago Area School District, fighting for access to the restroom at school, similar to the work we did in Whitaker v. Kenosha Unified School District. This is among other cases we have done, such as to prevent Wisconsin from denying gender affirming care to transgender Medicaid beneficiaries in Flack v. Wisconsin Department of Health Services and to enforce the Fair Housing Act to ensure that LGBTQ+ people are able to live in housing of their choice in Walsh v. Friendship Village of South County.

Love is love. Everyone, regardless of their identity, deserves to live with dignity and PRIDE. We will always be in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ family in lifting up our community and against those who seek to undermine progress. If you have experienced discrimination because of LGBTQ+ status, feel free to contact us by clicking here.
