Daniel Jellins is an attorney at Relman Colfax. Daniel joined the firm in 2023 and practices in the civil rights counseling group.
Prior to joining the firm, Daniel spent time as a Staff Attorney and Clinical Teaching Fellow at Georgetown Law Center’s Communications and Technology Law Clinic, where he advocated for the first-of-its-kind law protecting people against discrimination in targeted advertising algorithms. He also supervised law students petitioning the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Communications Commission. This work included protecting kids targeted by harmful social media design features and assisting people with disabilities harmed by lax enforcement of privacy policies.
During law school, Daniel was the President of the Chicago Law Foundation, raising money for other law students pursuing careers in public interest. He was also the Treasurer of the Black Law Students Association. Daniel interned at the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection and worked as a judicial intern for Judge Alfred H. Bennett, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas.
In his free time, Daniel mentors University of Chicago college students interested in public interest work, plays kickball, and enjoys bouldering.
