Opportunities for Attorneys
Relman, Dane & Colfax is accepting applications for a junior associate position in its Washington, D.C., office.
The Firm seeks applicants with one to four years of experience to work on cutting-edge civil rights cases. The associate will be involved in all aspects and stages of litigation, from developing and investigating cases, to interviewing clients, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and appearing in court. The associate will also be involved in the Firm’s compliance practice; in that role the associate will help manage compliance matters, interact with institutional clients, analyze client data, work with statistical experts, and prepare presentations to regulators.
Experience and Qualifications
Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to civil rights enforcement; strong academic credentials; superior research, writing, and verbal skills; the desire to litigate; and the ability to balance a varied case load.

Summer associates provide important assistance in many of the firm's cases, including drafting discovery and briefs, interviewing witnesses and drafting declarations, conducting research, and investigating the claims of individuals seeking representation from the firm. Opportunities for Paralegals
Relman, Dane & Colfax, PLLC is seeking paralegals to begin a two-year commitment in early summer 2017. We are a civil rights law firm that focuses on cases in the areas of housing, lending, employment, education, and public accommodations. We represent plaintiffs who have suffered discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, national origin, color, religion, sex, disability, age, familial status, source of income, and sexual orientation. In addition, we assist non-profit organizations seeking to eliminate housing discrimination and to expand equal housing opportunities for all people. We also work with progressive institutions to advise them on best practices for expanding access to credit and for protecting consumer rights.
Paralegals are an integral part of both the litigation and compliance practice groups at Relman, Dane & Colfax. They interview individuals seeking representation from the firm; conduct factual investigations; review client and discovery documents; assist in preparation of legal briefs, client presentations, and preparation for trials; analyze statistical data to assess disparate impact; communicate with clients and witnesses; and conduct various administrative tasks. Paralegals have opportunities to attend strategy sessions, client meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials.
