Alexis Nail joined Relman Colfax in 2022 as a summer associate. Her work focuses on supporting the firm’s civil rights litigation and civil rights counseling practices.
Alexis is a rising 3L student at Howard University School of Law, where she is the Co-Captain of the Charles Hamilton Houston National Moot Court Team. Alexis is also a member of the Howard Public Interest Law Society and the Black Law Students Association, Langston Chapter. During her 1L summer, Alexis was a judicial intern for the Hon. Robin M. Meriweather of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Prior to law school, Alexis was a Fellow at the Alabama Appleseed Center for Law and Justice, where she used policy analysis, research, and community outreach to address issues affecting disenfranchised Alabamians. She also spent time with the Jefferson County Memorial Project, where she partnered with the Equal Justice Initiatives’ National Memorial for Peace and Justice to memorialize lynching victims in Jefferson County, AL.
Alexis graduated with honors from Birmingham-Southern College with a B.A. in Political Science, minor in Human Rights and Conflict Studies, and a distinction in Leadership Studies.
In her free time, Alexis enjoys traveling, baking, and is trained in classical and neoclassical ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance styles.
