DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION

Relman Dane & Colfax is accepting applications for a new position, Director of Administration in its Washington, D.C. office.   

Responsibilities

The Firm seeks applicants who can envision and implement operational systems and processes to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of a dynamic civil rights law firm entering its third decade. The successful candidate will—in close consultation with the Firm’s partners—take charge of day-to-day operations concerning vendors, information technology, marketing and communications, human resources and special events, and will assist the partners in other initiatives related to the Firm’s mission of eradicating discrimination in housing, lending, employment, education, public accommodations and related areas.

Experience and Qualifications

Applicants should have at least seven (7) years of office management and oversight experience in a law firm or non-profit setting working closely with partners, an executive committee or board of directors. Applicants should have strong organizational and project management skills, comfort with both advancing bigger-picture goals and focusing on micro-level operational details, and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, client-oriented environment. Applicants should also have a demonstrated commitment to civil rights, building community, and promoting equity and inclusion in the workplace, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of human resource management and team building a strong plus factor. An MBA or JD is preferred, but not required.
