Tracey Herron et al. v. A. Ray Brown Family Investment LP

Relman, Dane & Colfax has filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of the Miami Valley Fair Housing Center and two former property managers alleging that an Ohio property owner and landlord engaged in a pattern and practice of discrimination against African Americans, Latinos, and families with children in violation of the Fair Housing Act (FHA). The lawsuit alleges that the defendants sought to limit the number of minorities in their buildings, instructed leasing managers to reject qualified minorities who applied for apartments, ordered managers to provide false reasons for denials of rental applications to conceal their discriminatory motives, and otherwise expected or forced managers to participate in unlawful discriminatory behavior. The two rental managers formerly employed by the defendants have joined MVFHC as plaintiffs. They both allege they were terminated by the defendants after they challenged their employers' discriminatory practices and refused to participate in them.
