Mr. Edwards practices in fair lending compliance.

Prior to joining Relman, Dane & Colfax, Mr. Edwards was Vice President of Federal Affairs with the Center for Responsible Lending, where he concentrated on matters regarding consumer lending policy. Mr. Edwards has been a frequent speaker at financial industry conferences and events. He has testified before Congress and federal regulatory bodies regarding consumer finance issues and access to credit concerns.

Mr. Edwards’ background also includes work as a commercial litigator for two international law firms. He also worked as a prosecutor and has tried dozens of jury trials to verdict.

Honors and Awards

In 2013, Mr. Edwards was recognized in the Network Journal’s list of “40 Under Forty” professional achievers. Also in 2013, he was recognized in Who’s Who in Black Washington, D.C. In 2006, he was the recipient of the distinguished American Marshall Memorial Fellowship from the German Marshall Fund.
